Peter Hahn was born in Tokyo in 1963. He received his education in the US, and after graduating from the University of California Berkeley College of Environmental Design, he joined the offices of Hallenbeck, Chamorro and Associates to receive his first professional training.He moved to Japan in 1988 to study Japanese architecture. Subsequently, he joined Rafael Vinoly Architects to work on the award-winning Tokyo International Forum project, completed in 1996. He then went to work for two Tokyo-based interior design firms where, as Design Director, he was responsible for the design and management of corporate interior and retail projects. In 1999, he joined Yoshio Taniguchi and Associates as Project Manager to work on the competition-winning design of the new Museum of Modern Art in New York,
completed in 2004.His unique international experience, both professional and personal, is reflected in his work, transcending all cultural and stylistic boundaries. He established Peter Hahn Associates in 2001, to serve clients worldwide.
